• Several commendations, press releases, and achievement awards presented by the United States Attorney’s Office, Washington D.C., and The Metropolitan Police Department, Washington D.C.  These awards recognize excellent proper case management; excellent clear and concise presentation of case analysis; and outstanding case completions of one hundred fifty to one hundred sixty cases a year. These cases consist of violent crimes such as Homicides and Assaults with Intent to Kill.In addition, I was awarded the Firearms Examination Sections Silver Star Achiever for the calendar year of 2005. I made an examiner comparison on two different caliber firearms that connected three homicides and one assault case. With these connections and the assistance of the IBIS System, I ultimately connected 16 Washington D.C. cases and four cases from a neighboring jurisdiction that included five homicides and 11 assaults representing that the same 10 firearms were used on 20 different crime scenes. This was the largest inter-nexus of violent crime cases ever produced by anyone assigned to the Firearms Examination Section.

• First Metropolitan Police Department Firearm Examiner to become certified by The Association of Firearms and Toolmark Examiners
• The only firearm examiner assigned to the Metropolitan Police Departments Firearms Unit to connect sixteen (16) Washington, D.C., and four (4) neighboring jurisdiction cases that included five (5) homicides and eleven (11) assaults representing the same ten (10) firearms used on twenty (20) different crime scenes
• Successfully completed, with one-hundred (100) percent accuracy, several proficiency exams provided by Collaborative Testing Laboratories
• Participated and completed with one-hundred (100) percent accuracy, survey’s that show consecutively manufactured firearm barrels and slides can be differentiated
• Supervised and trained over five hundred (500) police recruits. One (1) recruit became Chief of Police, and another became Assistant Chief of Police of the Washington, D.C. Police Department
